World Migratory Bird Day 2024

Celebrate World Migratory Bird Day with us this weekend! Migrate over to the Desert Museum for a BOGO deal, this weekend only! On Saturday and Sunday (May 11-12, 2024) you can buy one ticket and get one free! This offer is only valid for General Admission tickets, and can be used for adult and/or child tickets.
World Migratory Bird Day is celebrated twice a year to reflect the movement of millions of birds between their breeding grounds and overwintering grounds. Spring Migratory Bird Day is celebrated on the 2nd Saturday in May (May 11th, 2024) and Fall Migratory Bird Day is celebrated on the 2nd Saturday in October (October 12th, 2024).
Bring your binoculars, camera, and phone (equipped with the iNaturalist or Merlin app) and see what birds you spot!
We're also hosting an im-peck-able giveaway at the ticketing counter. You just have to ask for a raffle ticket, no purchase necessary!

Have you heard that the Sonorasaurus is officially Arizona's state dinosaur? Based on the fossils, it is estimated that the dino was about 50 feet long and weighed 4,000 pounds. Come see the REAL Sonorasaurus bones (only at the Desert Museum)! You can also become an amateur paleontologist in the fossil dig at our Ancient Arizona exhibit.
